Painting has been my hobby since I was a twelve years old boy. i made a pastel picture of Maharana Pratap which won a prize in school competition back in 1946.
After a long gap I started doing some pencil sketches during 1949-1955, when I was a graduate student. After my graduation I intended to join Delhi school of arts but my family discouraged me and I become a teacher. Later I worked with British Council TV unit, Then with Delhi Doordarshan as TV Officer (Instruction) Producing Educational Programs for Schools.
I Won Delhi state Awards as Principal of Senior Secondary School. Soon after I took voluntary Retirement and got busy doing some social work in the area and in the RWA.
This was a total holiday period from painting.
At the age of 81, I started painting again. The only incentive was to decorate the basement of my newly build house.
